Why Can't I Have A Cake?

Why is the sky blue?
Why are you so tall?
Why do birds fly?
Why can't I have a cake?

Why are kittens cute?
Why do you go to work?
Why have I got to go to bed?
Why can't I have a cake?

Why won't you let me watch cartoons?
Why do I have to have a bath?
Why is Superman not real?
Why can't I have a cake?

Why have I got to be quiet?
Why shouldn't I ask why?
Why am I annoying you?
Thank you Daddy for my cake.

The Leprechaun Revisited

Where is it ye Scallywag?
Have ye hidden in it ye bag?
Don't ye look at me as brass as bold
Give me back me pot o' gold

I will put a curse on ye, no surprise
Make ye eat spiders and flies
I always make ye feel sick
Ye thieving little Shabby Mick

I want it back! It's all mine!
I know ye got it, I saw the sign
So I will grind your bones for me tea
I will make ye live in eternal misery

Don't ye run! Don't ye dare!
I will hunt ye down, track ye everywhere
Bury ye under this earth filled clump
I will snap ye spine when I jump

Well! Blow me down with a wee feather
Look at that! Well I never!
I must have moved me crock only yesterday
So ye canna steal it away

I placed it safe and sound
Buried it there, hidden in the ground
So I now will be on me way
Doth me hat, wish ye a good day

The Hamster

The hamster is sitting there
In his cage looking at me
Wondering if he could escape somewhere
To get out and to be free

So now he is eating his meal
Stuffing some food in his cheeks
And then he plays on his wheel
He could stay on it for weeks

Now he climbs in his house for bed
He will sleep all of the day
You might see him pop out his head
From his little hideaway

But at night he gnaws on the bars
And he keeps me wide awake
I can see him from the light from the stars
Please let me sleep for goodness sake

The Friendly Troll

Once upon a time ago

He wanted to be friends

People saw him as a troll

Thats not where the story ends

For he was so beautiful inside

People only saw the outside skin

His love for life did he hide

Hiding away from everything

One day a little blind girl came his way

Became his friend, and told him stories

She visited the troll every single day

Told of heroes and their victory glories

But the villagers came looking to kill

A friendly troll who only loved life

Chased far away over the hill

With torches, clubs and a knife

But the little blind girl was in trouble

A wall of rocks began to slide

The troll rescued her from the rubble

Gave his life for her and he died

Now as the friendly troll he is remembered

Never would cause you any harm

Always is he now forever remembered

The friendly troll with beautiful charm

Sleepy Head

Come along sleepy head
It's now time for bed

You're yawning still
So up the wooden hill

You stayed up late
So dream land does await

Clean your teeth, comb your hair
Little one, your bed is there

So come along, sleepy head
Just now, in your bed

Quick Silver

He glides through the night
Causing such a fright
That little goblin
With his head bobbing

He is up to no good
Shout at him you should
But he likes to scare
Anyone who is there

Quicksilver is his name
Mischief is is game
Naughty goblin is he
Moves faster than can be

And you will never know
When he is at yor window
Plays tricks with an icy grin
Ever so fast, so he can win

So when things go wrong
And you hear a strange song
Do not believe it is a whim
Because it just might be him

Quicksilver is his name
Mischief is is game
Naughty goblin is he
Moves faster than can be

Magical World

Silver Angels dancing on clouds
While Fairies floated in the sky
Golden stars light up the Sun
As giant Mockingbirds fly by

Dreamers fall into gentle slumber
While the Sandman watches over
Little Elves sprinkle his dust
Wearing green uniforms of clover

Somewhere The Pixies are at play
They are as merry as can be
Adults are blind to this magical world
It is only for children to see

Lullaby

Night time lullabies

Sweet singing voice

No more baby cries

Sleepy feeling rejoice

Far away tales

In your sleepy head

Dream of distant sails

On distant boats instead

Hush a bye my little one

Close your sweet eyes

Your dream land has begun

There are no more baby cries

Little one you are sleeping now

So cosy and warm in your bed

Let your wonderland dreams allow

Take you away to dream land instead

Leprechaun

Amid mushrooms the leprechaun creeps

At the end of rainbows he sleeps

He would hit you with a rock

If you try to steal his crock

A master of devilish trickery

He will play games with ye

Doth thou keep away from me gold

He will say so brash and bold

Catch him and hear him rant

Three wishes he will grant

But those wishes are like the mist

With each one comes a twist

Laughs at you, he is all dressed in green

Never generous, just twice as mean

For his hidden gold he will dig

Trick you and dance an Irish jig

Fat Rat

Somewhere there lives in my flat

A creature with a very long tail

It is a silly old big fat rat

That can only run as fast as a snail

He is so clumsy as he sneaks

Wobbling along across the mat

He makes me laugh when he squeaks

Because he is ever so fat

And one day he got stuck in my shoe

All I saw was his tail in the air

He just did not know what to do

Now I wonder if he is still there

Fantasy Land

Let me take you by the hand

Somewhere to be free

Far away to a fantasy land

And live out the fantasy

Can you hear the fairy song

And watch the pixies fly

The beauty of the majestic unicorn

Multi coloured birds in the sky

Elves having a ball

Seeing beautiful flowers grow

Bathing within the waterfall

Chasing after the rainbow

But it is time to go away

From this World you want to be

And we can visit another day

In our dreams we see

Bideaway Cottage

Take a trip to Bideaway Cottage
With thatch, yellow like the sun
And the windows gleam in reflection
When caught in the wonder of light

Mister Bideaway always seems to smile
He sees the marvellous time of day
While the blind people always go by
For they never say hello, or never look up

Mrs Bideaway loves the pretty flowers
And spends the time to smell their scent
But people trample on the flowers outside
Never having the time to watch their step

Baby Bideaway plays happily with his red ball
Bouncing it each and every single day
But some seem to be lost in so much confusion
Because they have so many toys with which to play

Bideaway dog loves to run around with joy
Always you can see him wagging with glee
But the other dogs never seem to go anywhere
They always keep on chasing their tails

And as the sun begins to set on Bideaway Cottage
And all there are wishing us all a goodnight
Their dreams will be of peaceful slumber
Hoping the rest of us escape from the dark
