Time To Go

Ancient eyes view faded photograghs
Remember days condemned to the past
Of happier times of so very long ago
When youth allow these wery bones
To run with the love of a beating heart

He misses her, every second of every day
Ten years to the time she had to leave him
Taken by God, and he has been alone since
But he wonders why God is taking so long
So he can once again be with the one he loves

He always hears her voice, hears her laughter
She even comes to visit him in his dreams
No matter how dry his aged skin may feel
There are always tears in her memory
He is getting tired, so very tired

Then she is there holding his weathered hand
Looking as beautiful as when they first met
Pulling to his feet and he feels so young again
Dancing into the light, two lovers reunited
Leaving behind the life he has no more

Whispers On The Wind

I hear the whispers on the wind
The calling in the dark of night
I listen to what the voices say
Telling stories of lives faded away
They seem to vanish come day light
Once again taken away on the wind

It is the gathering of past souls
Of those that have gone long before
Who once lived in a life to tell
But then came darkness and they fell
Now taken to the distant shore
Leaving behind the living like past souls

I hear them speak to me and I weep
Wanting to be heard one final time
Contacting me as they say goodbye
Fading voices, as into Heaven they fly
Then I see their shadow moving as to mime
Soon they are gone and for them I weep

When The End Comes

The news had just come over

The World was going to end

So he rushed to his lover

Last kisses he would send

They had one day left together

Before it ending in a ball of flame

Crying and wishing time was forever

Loving each other so much the same

He held her tight, together they did cry

Knowing together,at the end, they would be

Together, when the end came, they would die

And that together, Heaven, they would see

He wished he had more time to love her

More time that he could still adore her

A little more time to be her lover

More time he could still ensure her

Not long before the end of the World will come

He weeps as he looks deep into her beautiful eyes

As long as she is here, Death will be welcome

Both now asleep, never to see another sun rise

When Death Comes

One day Death will come for me

To take me in her loving embrace

To come to set my soul free

To kiss me on my face

But I am not ready yet

For me to go with her

I still have may sun sets

Before we will be together

We all must face her one day

To take us to a better place

But not yet will she take me away

Her touch I am not ready to trace

I still have so many more years

Before I know that Death will come

And when she does, I will go with no fears

To lead me up to a better Kingdom

Waiting For A Flickering Light

The Reaper called to visit me

To talk of all the times past

Of the good times now faded far away

I knew this life was never meant to last

He sipped a cup of tea with a boney hand

Apologised that my time had now come

I ate one final piece of carrot cake

And knew I would have to succumb

Death, visited me as a true gentleman

He never made me feel ill at ease

Entertained me with his charm and wit

He did everything he could to please

But now the clocks no longer tick

And the grey comes creeping of the night

He takes my hand, so now we wait

To stand here waiting for a flickering light

Two Strangers

Two strangers meeting in the night
Unable to control their need
This sexual want they do not fight
This sexual want they will feed

She knows that this all wrong
She does not even know his name
But this feeling is just too strong
She always has to play this game

He knows this is a one night stand
Another secret he has to hide
He traces her body with his hand
Then on the bed they will slide

But no protection did they take
Their minds would never see
Blinded to lust that they make
Both now cursed with HIV

Throwing It All Away

He used to touch her soul
Now he sits there all alone
Too proud to find a way
To say how he really feels

In his younger days he smiled
But the years wiped it from him
Changed the light into the dark
Now he is waiting for nothing

He pushed her away from his side
She would have given him the world
If only he had opened up a little bit
He let the past destroy their future

That was so many years long gone
He is an old man now, twisted and bitter
Empty inside, his emotions have long flown
Staring at the wall as if it's a picture show

He has thrown it all away, there is nothing left
Sitting in his chair, finding another grey hair
Never wonders about what she is doing now
He finally closes his eyes and the lights go out

There Is A Time

There is a time everything must end
For nothing can last an Eternal life
Impossibilities to ind a life that lasts
But, I, myself would not like to live forever
To see new life come and then go
To see civilization crumble and fall

Do you think that being God is lonely?
To take all life for the Creation
Then to watch it all fade away
And witnessing that life take your name in vain
Curse you and to blame you for the trouble
Even if you were not the start of it

Maybe the Devil has had enough
All the sins and evil put upon his head
Blaming him for all the death and destruction
Even when he did not do anything
Taking his name for all that is bad
Sometimes he must just want to give up

So now where does that leave all Mankind
One day we will face the time of extinction
When there is nothing left for us to destroy
When only a few of us will still remain
Do you think we would try to live?
When we have watched everything die

There is a time only one man will be left
And will he reflect back where he went wrong?
Will this man then try to rebuild?
Begin from the ashes like a Phoenix
To try and give life to this world
This is something we shall never know

The Tolling Of The Bells

Those damn bells  haunt me
For they tolls for my doom
Awaking me from my sleep
Ringing there, in my head

Others only think me mad
They can not hear them
But every hour they call
Where can I hide?

You can not cheat Death
For HE will come for you
The bells are your warning
To prepare to be taken

I tried locking the door
I will not keep him out
I know soon he will be here
To take me to that dark dimension

So I live in fear, sweating
Dreading the sound of those bells
Knowing that when they do stop
That will be my time I must go

The Mourning House

In the wind a door slams

The sound splits the silent night

In a now long deserted house

Once full of many promised dreams

And now all those dreams are gone

Forgotten about in the gathering dust

Long ago there was a man and a woman

They owned this very house that is now lost

They were so very much in love

And felt their love would last forever

For each other they only had eyes

It was a perfect union of the heart

A war came and he had to join the fight

His country came calling for him

With endless tears she let him go

He promised soon he would return

She did not know that when he came back

He would be returned in his coffin to lie

This house she would never come to leave

She felt that his spirit was there

So all alone, in this house, she too died

And was buried next to her sweetheart

So reunited in the ground they are together

And a mourning house is empty still

The Faded Light

When she was little she wanted to act

To see herself on the big screen

She wanted the world to love her

So she followed her dreams and they came true

She starred and the world embraced her

Then the work began to dry up for her

They said she was not young anymore

She felt her starlight glow begin to flicker

Young lovers deserted from her side

She was made to feel isolated and all alone

No money coming in, she was soon forgotten

Lost the big home she could not afford anymore

No one sees the actress that the years have forgot

She only sees the world in black and white

Even the home she lives in, do not want to keep her

Now she is starring in her final role

The movie plays out in her drunken mind

She sees her acting out being a bag lady

Roaming the streets in old age, scavenging for food

She will never know the truth in her own reality

So the Winter cold comes stalking down the alleys

Somewhere a lone figure lays unmoving in newspapers

No one comes near because no one really cares

They take away the body of a frozen bag lady to the morgue

A long forgotten actress that once shone so bright

Tell

Some say you must be brave
And to face each new day
As a day further from the grave
A day where Death kept away

Try telling that to a cancer victim
Where each new day is a luxery
Each day is special to them
Each day they hope they will see

Or tell it to a victim of rape
Where the hurt is so deep inside
From nightmares they can never escape
Feeling they have lost their pride

Tell it to the soldier standing there
Living with the terror and blood shed
See the horror in his eyes that stare
Knowing that any time he could be dead

Tell it to the mother who lost her baby
Knowing new life was taken away
To her there will be no maybe
To her she weeps every day

So think of what is all around
What to this world we have done
Death, he comes without any sound
Cry with me new tears always begun

Strange Girl

They said she was a strange girl
The odd one out in any group
Dressed in black, like a vampire
So they threw stones at her

She liked to listen to Heavy Rock
While they listened to the lastest Pop
Spat at her, rubbed things in her hair
Called her bad names and dragged her down

She excelled at school. she did her best
She was always the top of her class
Still they would make her life a misery
Tears would stain her black eye liner

Her parents found her, hanging in her room
With a note telling of the sadness of her life
Those that caused it, they never cared
Over the death of a poor strange girl

As poets we have the words that reach out, that can shock the reader. We can make a stand on many subjects and that is why each poet has something of value to say and to read.

Slaves Of War

I saw the blood on the ground.

Bodies were littered all around.

A friend lay there, with closed eyes.

The only living things were the flies.

I walked alone amongst the dead.

Walked on past friend and foe.

Scolding tears as I bow my head.

Wondering where I should go.

In war the soldiers are only a slave.

Like me, all of us are just the same.

I now stop here, at a marked grave.

And it is bearing only my name.

Reunited In Heaven

Little old lady sits in thought

She remembers how it used to be

When everything was there, she sought

They are always in her memory

She was a lady in her younger times

Married her very own soldier boy

Married where wedding bells chimes

Together they lived a life of joy

They worked through their strife

Always facing any problems, together

She remained his wonderful wife

She wanted to be this way, forever

But as the years went passing by

One peaceful night God took him away

She knew with Angels he did fly

She would be with him soon, one day

Now she is old and awaits for him

Tonight they will at last, be reunited

She be taken by a reaper so grim

With her love in Heaven, sited

Prayer For The Young

Big scene about a dying star,

Scenes on TV as the coffin went far.

But there are those who go unsung.

I say a prayer for the young.

Little child with cancer, inside, growing.

A life time the child will not be knowing.

I try not to cry as the child smiles.

Little child with their own kind of styles.

I write this poem, but do not give me pay.

Because, for them, I would gladly give it away.

All the very money if it saves them.

My tears fall now, to never stem.

Children should have a future to live.

My life to save theirs I would give.

They never see their life begun.

I say a prayer for the young.

One Last Gothic Dream

A restless dream, that trapped me
Like the icy blackness, enwrapped me
I found myself cold and shaking
With no way for my awaking

Then he came, from out of the dark
Stalked me like some demented shark
Like a messenger of Death, to deliver
I found myself afraid, felt myself shiver

His eyes were red, his skin was snow white
He gave no reflection, no sign of light
When he spoke, his voice was like gravel
I could feel this life of mine, unravel

"I am the darkness within your dreams"
"I am the nightmare of your screams"
"I claim that which is mine, you know"
"I come now, to collect your soul"

I started to run, but then he was there, ahead
This strange traveller, collecting the dead
But why had he come for me if I was alive?
Did he not realise I was left to survive?

But a cruel irony can be twisted fate
You do not know when it is too late
As he claimed me, I started to weep
I did not know, I died in my sleep

So I walk with him, for eternal torment
Never to awaken from this moment
As into Deaths' dormain I am cast
Knowing now, I have dreamt my last

Ode To An Addict

He has nothing left to own

Empty rooms are his home

In his own filth he will lie

Just to be a little bit high

He waits to feel the effect

With what he will inject

Right into his own vein

He will never feel the pain

Never hears the playing song

All his friends are now long gone

He is in darkness, there is no electricity

He is alone, feeling his own self pity

Tried to stop so many times

Made money with too many crimes

Even drugs he would steal

For the way they make him feel

This time the drugs are bad

Does not care for he has gone mad

He can feel the buzz in his head

By the morning he will be dead

Nothing Lasts Forever

A broken glass on the floor

Blood stain in the carpet, soaks

Splintered table that is no more

Once made of the strongest oaks

He is still, he was hit on the head

She is crying from it all

He is her man lying there dead

He is still, from the sudden fall

He was leaving, a new lover to go to

She wanted him to remain and stay

He said his love for her was no longer true

She said she would never let him go away

He turned to go and to walk out the door

She would not let him go, no, never

She hit him so hard, like never before

Now it is over, nothing lasts forever

No Escape

I can feel my skull pounding
My thoughts are comfounding
Dwelling in cold torment
Feeling my soul spent
Frozen daggers stab my spine
Giving me a chilling sign
He is coming to find me
To add to my endless misery

So here I am, as I await
Not sure of my impending fate
Tears go unheard this dark night
Cries with no voice in fading light
And I still here, and waiting
Is there hope, I am anticipating
But now my fear returns for more
As I hear him now, knocking on my door

Trembling, I open the door open wide
The space is empty with no one outside
Closing and locking, I allow myself to grin
I cheated Death. I believe I can win
But I turn, he stands by the open fire
At last my last thoughts become so dire
You can never escape, that I now understand
As he offers me up his bony, icy hand
